Date of exit not marked
EPFO cannot settle a final claim if your last employer never recorded when you left. Ask the employer to mark it, or update it yourself on the member portal under Manage, Mark Exit, once the required time after leaving has passed.
Bank account not verified or name mismatch
Your bank account must be verified in KYC and the account holder name must match your EPF record. If the bank shows your name differently — initials, surname order, spelling — either correct the bank record or update the EPF profile so they match.
Name, date of birth or father's name mismatch
If your EPF record does not match your Aadhaar, file a profile correction request (joint declaration) on the portal with proof. Your employer approves it and the PF office updates your record. Claims filed before the correction is complete will keep failing.
Cheque or passbook image not clear
The uploaded cheque must clearly show your name, account number and IFSC. Upload a sharp photo of a cancelled cheque or the first page of your passbook.
Wrong form or not eligible yet
Final settlement, advance and pension claims each use different forms and eligibility rules. Filing for a final settlement while still employed, or before the waiting period, is rejected automatically. Check the options the portal offers you after the October 2025 rule changes.
Old PF accounts not linked
If you worked at more than one company, your older member IDs may not be linked to your UAN. Link them and transfer the balances first; otherwise only part of your PF is claimable, and service breaks can make the withdrawal taxable.
